The first step focused on defining the key sustainability topics as part of a multi-stakeholder process and the development of targets and measures in a detailed sustainability roadmap.

To systematically advance sustainability management, a cross-functional sustainability committee was established under the leadership of the CEO. Supported by BHP, this sustainability committee reviews progress in implementing the sustainability roadmap, initiates further measures where necessary, and coordinates internal and external sustainability communication. Finally, BG integrated sustainability as a key topic in the group strategy and vision.
