Strategic development of the Eco-Compass
For over a decade, the city of Zurich has been running the Eco-Compass (ÖK), an environmental advisory service that supports SMEs in making their businesses more environmentally friendly and resource-efficient.
Brugger + Partner was commissioned by Umwelt- und Gesundheitsschutz Zürich (UGZ) to support the strategic development of the program with a view to the upcoming mandate period starting in 2027. The focus was on how the ÖK can further increase its impact in light of climate targets, regulatory requirements, and social expectations. Based on a document analysis and interviews with experts, partner organizations, and participating SMEs, Brugger + Partner reviewed the existing approach, identified strengths, and formulated concrete development options. The external report provides recommendations for the future content, organizational, and communication orientation of the program.
