Coaching on sustainability management and reporting
Starting in 2004, Brugger + Partner supported Galenica, Switzerland's leading fully integrated healthcare provider, in sustainability management, reporting, and integrating sustainability into the company. As part of the annual reporting process, we assisted in developing the reporting concept, preparing environmental data, and editing the report. We were also responsible for completing the annual CDP questionnaire. Through stakeholder engagement, we conducted several materiality assessments with Galenica to identify key sustainability issues. We also advised the company on developing roadmaps and setting sustainability targets. Another area of support included assisting the head of the sustainability committee in preparing and conducting the committee's meetings.
Development of climate strategy
Brugger + Partner supported Galenica in developing an initial pragmatic energy and carbon strategy. The project aimed to assess the company's exposure in these two areas and prioritise potential investments for its next long-term budget planning. Brugger + Partner structured the strategic key parameters through a detailed SWOT analysis. Various measures to reduce carbon emissions and/or energy consumption were then compared based on their costs and anticipated savings potential.
2005-2022 sustainability reporting
As part of the annual reporting process, Brugger + Partner supported Galenica in developing the reporting concept, preparing environmental data, and editing the sustainability report. The first stand-alone sustainability report was published in 2015, having previously been included as a chapter in the annual report. With our support, Galenica published its first web-based report for 2020. In 2021, we assisted the company in producing a combined annual and sustainability report in accordance with the GRI standards. Our contribution focused on non-financial reporting. From 2015 to 2020, we were responsible for the design and editing of features on selected sustainability topics in the annual reports.
Sustainability coaching
Brugger + Partner has supported Galenica over several years in sustainability management and integrating sustainability into the company. We assisted the head of the sustainability committee in preparing and conducting its meetings and supported Galenica in completing the CDP questionnaire and responding to other ESG rating requests. Together with Galenica, we conducted several materiality processes. In 2017, we held a workshop to identify material topics and develop a roadmap. In 2021, we carried out a GRI-compliant materiality process based on stakeholder engagement to determine the material topics. We also advised the company on developing the roadmap and setting sustainability targets. In 2023, we accompanied another materiality process for the company.
