Consolidating of materiality assessment

Brugger + Partner supported ewz in completing its materiality assessment, which was already underway. As a major energy service provider in Zurich, ewz is committed to sustainable solutions. To uphold this commitment and focus on the relevant issues, ewz renewed its materiality analysis in 2025. In doing so, it followed the European Sustainability Reporting Standard (ESRS) and the principle of double materiality. ewz held internal workshops to gather information on the impact on people and the environment, as well as the risks and opportunities for ewz in the context of sustainability. Brugger + Partner supported ewz in structuring, consolidating, and evaluating the results. As a outcome, ewz can see which impacts, risks, and opportunities are material for them and thus which issues should be prioritized. It should be noted that the evaluation was carried out along the ESRS topics as well as along the topics defined by ewz, different business areas, and steps in the value chain.
