City center revitalization & retail trade

Brugger + Partner supported the city of Wädenswil in developing measures to revitalise the city centre and strengthen the local retail sector. The rise of online shopping and changing consumer habits present many town centres with new challenges – yet they also offer Wädenswil the opportunity to raise the profile of its existing offering in a targeted manner and to further develop the city centre as an attractive place for shopping, strolling and socialising. Together with the city of Wädenswil and an interdisciplinary panel of experts, Brugger + Partner developed a strategy for a lively city centre. Based on analyses, interviews and workshops, concrete recommendations for action and measures were formulated to enhance the quality of the environment, visibility and cooperation between the city and local businesses. Through a practical, participatory process, Brugger + Partner laid the foundations for future-oriented inner-city development that sustainably promotes the economy, the townscape and quality of life in Wädenswil.
