Melanie Mettler is the Co-Managing Director of Compasso, the Network for Occupational Integration, and has worked in that function at BHP since 2019. She contributes a large network to Compasso thanks to her civic and personal engagement, along with rich experience in dealing with a wide range of stakeholders.
Melanie Mettler is a generalist with broad interdisciplinary competence and is especially interested in the interfaces between government, the business sector, and civil society. Following her studies in analytic philosophy and linguistics and her doctorate in modern English literature, Melanie Mettler served for many years at the World Trade Institute as a lecturer and consultant in the field of world trade regulation, working with researchers, students, and practitioners from around the world.
With her great interest in society and politics, she advocates for innovative social issues and projects in her free time, including as co-founder of the solar energy crowdfunding project Sunraising and the Social Innovation Bern Accelerator. She has been active in politics for years and was elected to the National Council of Switzerland in 2019.
