BHP has been a member of the
UN Global Compact since 2010 and publishes an annual communication on progress showing how we integrate the
ten principles of the Global Compact in our work as a consultant and employer. In our own sustainability road map, we regularly set out specific action and performance objectives. We use the annual report to review our priorities and the impact of our actions.
UN Global Compact: global sustainability initiative
The United Nations Global Compact is a voluntary initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations with specific principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption. For this purpose, various forms of exchange of experience have been developed since the turn of the millennium, as well as numerous aids such as management tools and best practice guidelines.
BHP and the UN Global Compact
The UN Compact's vision of sustainability is a common theme of all our consulting activity. The vision of using our consulting skills to make a contribution to sustainable development spurs us on each day to find creative and valuable paths for our clients and their stakeholders in the fields of sustainability and CSR. In recent years, we have inspired, accompanied, or implemented numerous projects or initiatives with a close connection to the UN Global Compact, including
The Sustainability Forum Zurich (only available in German), the Fondation Guilé, the
Energy Trialogue Switzerland (only available in German), the UN Global Compact Learning Platform, and the
Blueprint for Corporate Sustainability Leadership.
