BHP supports the Federal Office for Spatial Development ARE in its preparations for monitoring the spatial and traffic impact of the new Gotthard Base Tunnel. BHP's support includes advising the client on planning the monitoring, assisting the cross-agency advisory group, and preparing the WTO tender. BHP is also preparing the foundations for the monitoring: Firstly, we are preparing a trend scenario showing the potential impact of the new Gotthard axis on the spatial and traffic development in the Gotthard region. Secondly, we are securing data necessary for the monitoring that is retroactively hard to find. The Gotthard Base Tunnel is a project of the century. For the Confederation, a clear evaluation of the impact is therefore key. By preparing the monitoring, BHP is making a solid contribution to this important evaluation.
