Strategy review and reporting
Together with Brugger + Partner, Valiant renewed its materiality assessment in 2021 and strengthened sustainability management within the company. The bank enhanced its internal understanding of sustainability, defined the strategic significance of relevant topics, and formulated an ambition for each. The project included a stakeholder survey, workshops with management and an internal working group, as well as a market and internal analysis of the current state. The process resulted in a new materiality matrix, a roadmap outlining diverse measures up to 2024, and a restructured corporate responsibility report. Additionally, sustainability management was further systematised and repositioned internally. Our support included in-depth expertise, designing and facilitating workshops, and conducting and analysing the stakeholder survey.
ESG management training
To raise awareness and impart knowledge, Valiant conducted a training programme on sustainability and ESG for all employees with management responsibilities. Brugger + Partner, together with the bank, designed the entire training module and carried out approximately a dozen two-hour web-based training sessions in German and French. In these sessions, Valiant's sustainability officer provided an overview of current regulatory developments and the bank's internal sustainability initiatives, while we guided managers through the concepts of sustainability and the distinctions between sustainability and ESG.
