Strategic integration of sustainability
Since 2011, Brugger + Partner has been supporting V-ZUG in the strategic integration and implementation of its sustainability initiatives and in developing a tailored CSR roadmap. We provide advice on strategic issues, assist with the materiality process, refine ambitions and objectives, and translate the strategy into transparent, target-group-oriented, and regulatory-compliant reporting.
Double materiality assessment under CSRD/ESRS
In 2024, Brugger + Partner supported V-ZUG Ltd in updating its materiality matrix in alignment with the European CSRD/ESRS guidelines. Through workshops and interviews with internal and external stakeholders, relevant topics, impacts, risks, and opportunities were identified and refined, and then assessed in terms of double materiality. The relevance of the topics from the stakeholders' perspective was also determined and incorporated into the materiality matrix. This comprehensive materiality process – in accordance with CSRD/ESRS – and the strategic refinement of material topics position V-ZUG to proactively meet upcoming regulatory requirements relating to sustainability.
Integration of material topics into strategic priorities
In 2021, Brugger + Partner supported V-ZUG in refining its sustainability focus areas and establishing clear priorities. The process began with a workshop, facilitated by Brugger + Partner, where the V-ZUG Sustainability Workforce reviewed the list of potentially relevant sustainability topics and condensed them into four concise focus topics. An online survey gathered input from over 60 internal and external stakeholders regarding the relevance of these sustainability topics. The assessment of the materiality of the social impacts of various topics was conducted in two internal working groups. The findings were subsequently discussed and finalised with selected members of the management and board of directors.
Metall Zug advances sustainability at its subsidiaries
In 2018-2019, Brugger + Partner supported Metall Zug in conducting a comprehensive materiality process with its business units and developing corresponding roadmaps. The goal was to create an overarching sustainability strategy closely aligned with the business models of each business unit, including V-ZUG. As part of this effort, Brugger + Partner assisted V-ZUG and Metall Zug in identifying and evaluating key issues for V-ZUG through workshops and working groups. We also helped formulate strategic goals and develop a roadmap with clear measures and responsibilities.
