Further development of sustainability roadmap and reporting

Brugger + Partner supported u-blox, a leading fabless provider of semiconductors for embedded positioning and wireless communication solutions, in systematising and enhancing its sustainability measures. This included a pragmatic materiality assessment, the development of an ESG roadmap, and the preparation of a greenhouse gas inventory (Scopes 1 and 2, along with selected Scope 3 categories). Brugger + Partner also assisted u-blox in preparing its 2023 sustainability report in accordance with GRI standards and Swiss requirements for transparency on non-financial matters, including relevant gap analyses. The current focus is on further developing the greenhouse gas inventory.
Greenhouse gas accounting and climate targets
Brugger + Partner supports u-blox in refining its greenhouse gas accounting, especially in the Scope 3 categories. The company is also advancing its net zero targets and action plans with our assistance. These activities include further steps in offsetting and removing greenhouse gas emissions.
Evaluation support
For the development of its 2025-29 strategy, the Wyss Academy for Nature engaged Brugger + Partner to evaluate the achievements and outcomes of the first implementation phase (2020-2024). Brugger + Partner designed, coordinated, and conducted the evaluation in alignment with OECD-DAC criteria and SEVAL standards. The review included the implementation and evaluation of a staff survey, five site visits to regional hubs in Kenya, Madagascar, Southeast Asia, South America, and Switzerland, as well as multiple workshops with teams from the five hubs and three operational units. Detailed evaluation reports were prepared for each unit and consolidated into a comprehensive synthesis report evaluating the Wyss Academy for Nature.
