Initialisation of sustainability management

The BRUGG Group offers leading products and solutions in cable technology, district heating technology, process control technology, protection systems, and cable solutions for e-mobility, wind energy, and industry. Since 2019, Brugger + Partner has been working together with this private industrial group, which operates over 50 branches worldwide. The partnership began with a keynote speech at a group management meeting, followed by an interactive session at the 2020 management conference. Brugger + Partner then supported an internal pilot project to develop a greenhouse gas inventory for two sites. This pilot project culminated in a series of workshops with BRUGG Lifting to initiate further decarbonisation efforts.
2023 sustainability report
Brugger + Partner designed and prepared the BRUGG Group's first group-wide sustainability report with reference to the GRI standards (2021), published in July 2024. Future reports will provide annual updates on the BRUGG Group's ongoing sustainability initiatives. The sustainability report was developed in close collaboration with the Head of Sustainability at the BRUGG Group.
Materiality assessment and roadmap development
Brugger + Partner supported the BRUGG Group – a leading private industrial company specialising in cable technology, district heating technology, process control technology, protection systems, and cable solutions for e-mobility, wind energy, and industry – in systematically integrating and advancing its sustainability strategy. In close collaboration with the Head of Sustainability, Brugger + Partner conducted a materiality assessment with the group management, refined the goals and ambitions for the material topics, and assessed the current state of sustainability efforts and initiatives. Following this, we assisted in developing a sustainability and decarbonisation roadmap at group level, which now serves as a framework for implementing sustainability activities across the BRUGG Group's business areas.
Double Materiality Assessment according to ESRS
Brugger + Partner supported the BRUGG Group, a leading private industrial group in the fields of rope technology, district heating technology, process control technology, protection systems and cable solutions for e-mobility, wind energy and industry, in conducting a dual materiality analysis in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). In close cooperation with the Head of Sustainability, Brugger + Partner carried out the analysis across the entire group. With the help of an online survey of previously identified, relevant stakeholders, the impacts on people and the environment as well as the risks and opportunities arising for the BRUGG Group from changes in the environment (e.g. regulatory, market, environmental) were collected. These were then evaluated and discussed in accordance with the requirements of the ESRS. By matching the ESRS topics and sub-topics, it is now clear which topics are relevant to the BRUGG Group within the context of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
