CDP’s Climate Change Program

Already for the second time, BHP is playing an important role this year in the CDP's Climate Change Program as a scoring partner.

Once a year, the CDP conducts a survey of environmental information on behalf of 767 institutional investors worldwide. On a voluntary basis, companies can use a standardised questionnaire to report on climate risks and opportunities as well as their goals and strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The responses are analysed and evaluated by experts and summarised in scores. This year's scores were published at the CDP annual conference on 16 October 2014.

This is already the second year that BHP has been involved as a scoring partner for CDP's Climate Change Program. Our team evaluated the responses of about 65 publicly listed Swiss companies. As a next step, we will now conduct qualified feedback discussions with company representatives on the scoring results. Thanks to our many years of expertise in resource and climate strategy consulting, we are able to show companies participating in CDP's Climate Change Program not only how to understand specific questions in the CDP online response system, but also how to improve their management of greenhouse gas emissions in a targeted way. The latter is also a key component of our corporate philosophy – namely employing our consulting skills for the creation of sustainable added value.
